Oriental Salad Dressing

This simple Oriental Salad Dressing is fresh, flavorful, and incredibly versatile. Rice vinegar, sesame oil, soy sauce, and a touch of sugar come together to make a balanced dressing that’s delicious on salads but useful far beyond the salad bowl. This is the same dressing we use for our Chicken Salad, and we often keep it on hand for other meals as well.

A simple, flavorful Oriental Salad Dressing made with rice vinegar, sesame oil, soy sauce, and a touch of sugar. Delicious on salads and versatile enough to use with meats and vegetables.

Ingredients

  • ¼ cup rice vinegar
  • ¼ cup vegetable oil
  • 2 tablespoons sesame oil
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon pepper

Instructions

  • Combine all ingredients in a bowl or jar.
  • Whisk well or cover and shake until the dressing is thoroughly combined.
  • Use immediately or refrigerate until ready to use. Shake or stir well before serving.

Notes

This is the same dressing we use in our Chicken Salad, but it’s so versatile that we use it in many other ways.
Try it as a cooking oil or finishing sauce for other meals. We use it to warm up meatloaf or frozen meatballs, and a small amount can be added to foods while pan-frying. Because it contains oil, it can sometimes be used in place of butter, margarine, or cooking spray. It adds another layer of flavor to meats and vegetables.
