These Garlicky Chicken Wings are coated in a buttery garlic sauce with tomato, Worcestershire, brown sugar, apple cider vinegar, and Thai roasted red chili paste. A savory, slightly sweet wing favorite with a little kick.

Ingredients

  • ½ cup butter
  • 8 cloves garlic minced
  • ¾ cup tomato sauce
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1½ teaspoons Thai Kitchen roasted red chili paste
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar

Chicken Wings

  • 2 pounds chicken wings split, prepared using the Basic Chicken Wings recipe

Instructions

  • Prepare the chicken wings using your preferred method in the Basic Chicken Wings recipe.
  • While the wings cook, melt the butter in a saucepan over medium heat.
  • Add the minced garlic and cook for 1–2 minutes, stirring frequently, until fragrant and just beginning to turn lightly golden. Avoid burning the garlic.
  • Add the tomato sauce, Worcestershire sauce, roasted red chili paste, apple cider vinegar, and brown sugar. Stir to combine.
  • Reduce the heat to low and simmer for 3–5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the sauce thickens slightly.
  • Toss the cooked wings in the garlic sauce until evenly coated.
  • Serve warm.

Notes

Oven cooking: If using the oven, cook the wings on a rack set over a baking sheet to help hot air circulate around them.
Adjust the heat: Thai roasted red chili paste adds a little spice. Adjust the amount to suit your family’s taste.
Garlic tip: Keep a close eye on the garlic while cooking; it should be fragrant and lightly golden, not dark brown.
