1boxpistachio instant pudding & pie filling mix4-serving size (dry)
¾cupminiature marshmallows
2cupsNon dairy whipped toppingsuch as Cool Whip
⅓cupchopped pecans
Instructions
In medium bowl, mix 20 oz crushed pineapple, 1 box pistachio instant pudding & pie filling mix, 3/4 cup miniature marshmallows.
Gently stir in2 cups Non dairy whipped topping. Cover and refrigerate at least 1 hour or up to 2 days.
Remove from refrigerator, and uncover. Gently stir in 1/3 cup chopped pecans.
Place salad in serving bowl to serve. Cover and refrigerate any remaining salad.
Notes
Advise to use within 3 days. While you can freeze Watergate salad, it is much better never having been frozen. A similar salad is known as Ambrosia. Ambrosia usually contains more types of fruit than Watergate salad, including grapes, oranges, strawberries, and sometimes even cherries and bananas. Ambrosia also often contains coconut. Extend this recipe into ambrosia by adding these ingredients.
