½teaspoonfreshly ground black pepper
⅓cupfresh blueberriesfor garnish
1jalapeñothinly sliced, for garnish
Instructions
Prepare the chicken wings using the Basic Chicken Wings recipe and your preferred cooking method. Season with the garlic salt and black pepper before cooking, if they are not already seasoned.
While the wings cook, combine the blueberry preserves, soy sauce, garlic, ginger, minced jalapeños, and 1 cup of fresh blueberries in a small saucepan.
Bring the mixture to a gentle simmer over low heat. Cook, stirring occasionally, for about 15 minutes, until the blueberries soften and the sauce reduces and thickens slightly.
When the wings are cooked through, toss them with the blueberry sauce until evenly coated.
Arrange the coated wings on a rack over a foil-lined baking sheet. Broil for about 4 minutes, watching closely, until the glaze is bubbly and begins to caramelize. Avoid letting the sugary sauce burn.
Transfer the wings to a serving platter. Garnish with the remaining ⅓ cup fresh blueberries and the thinly sliced jalapeño.
