2-3cupsSpaetzle fresh or purchased and cooked
1cupCrispy Fried OnionsI used French's Crispy fried onions from a package.
Instructions
In a bowl combine shredded 1.5 cups shredded Swiss cheese, 1/4 cup heavy cream, and 2 tablespoons chopped chives
Melt 2 tablespoons unsalted butter in a 9 or 10-inch cast iron pan over medium heat.
When the butter is hot add 2-3 cups Spaetzle fresh or purchased and cooked. Cook over medium-high heat until they're golden brown on the edges and slightly crispy.
Add the cheese mixture and stir until the cheese is melted and everything is evenly coated.
Put the pan under your broiler for about 1-2 minutes until the top is golden brown.
Take it out of the oven. Garnish with additional chopped chives and 1 cup 1 cup Crispy Fried Onions.
