Make your own Taco Bell-style taco seasoning at home. This easy, cost-effective seasoning mix makes enough for one pound of ground beef and is perfect for quick, flavorful tacos.

Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon dried onion flakes
  • 1 teaspoon all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon beef bouillon granules
  • 1 teaspoon garlic salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • ¼ teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • ¼ teaspoon granulated white sugar

Instructions

  • In a small bowl, whisk together the dried onion flakes, flour, bouillon granules, garlic salt, cumin, paprika, chili powder, cayenne pepper, and sugar until well combined.
  • Use the seasoning mix as you would a packet of taco seasoning. The recipe makes enough to season approximately 1 pound of ground beef.

Notes

Suggest storage in airtight container, like mason jar. At normal room temps.
I suggest making a batch as written, use it and see if you and your family enjoy the flavor.  Adjust as till you find the “right” mixture for your family’s taste.
For ease of use I make enough ahead to last a couple of months, which depends on how often you use.
